How Mumin Life handles your information

Last updated: August 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Mumin Life handles information in the Mumin Life mobile app for Android and iOS, and in the support, feedback, contact, and content-correction service connected to the app. It applies only to the Mumin Life app and this website.

Summary

Mumin Life is designed to keep religious activity private. Core app activity such as prayer settings, Quran use, reading activity, and worship activity stays on your device unless you choose to include that information in a support message, diagnostic log, or screenshot.

The app does not require an account and does not ask you to sign in. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use support reports to build advertising profiles.

The app interface is currently available in English only.

Information handled on your device

The app processes information on your device to provide its Islamic utility features, such as local prayer-time calculation, app locale, offline content versions, and the calculation preferences you select. This information is stored in the app's own storage on your device.

If you grant location permission, your location is used on the device for features that need it, such as local prayer-time accuracy and qibla direction. Your exact coordinates are not sent to our support service. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings; features that depend on it will fall back to a location you set manually.

Uninstalling the app removes the app data stored on your device.

Information we collect when you contact support

We only receive information when you choose to send it. If you submit a report, feedback, contact request, or content-correction request, we may collect:

  • report type, subject, message, and creation time;
  • optional diagnostic logs, if you choose to include them;
  • optional screenshot, if you choose to attach one;
  • optional email address, only when you consent to being contacted;
  • app version, build number, platform, operating system version, device model, manufacturer, locale, timezone, and offline content version;
  • non-identifying diagnostic settings needed to understand the reported issue, such as prayer-time calculation settings;
  • a generated report reference used to track the support request.

Diagnostic logs, screenshots, and your email address are each separate, optional choices. You can submit a report without any of them, and a report submitted without an email address is still useful to us.

Screenshots can contain names, notifications, messages, or other personal content visible on your screen. Please review a screenshot before sending it.

Information we do not collect

Support reports do not send your IMEI or serial number, advertising identifiers, stable hardware or account identifiers, contacts, authentication tokens, exact GPS coordinates, Quran reading history, prayer history, worship history, or third-party analytics identifiers.

If you type sensitive information into a message, include it in diagnostic logs, or leave it visible in a screenshot, that information will reach us as part of your support request.

Server, storage, and security

We process the basic technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as request time, route, status code, request identifier, and the information used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Our application logs are designed to exclude report messages, email addresses, diagnostic bodies, screenshots, screenshot URLs, cookies, authorization values, and location.

Screenshots are kept in private storage. They are not published, not indexed, and not available through a public link. Access requires an authenticated administrator session and is recorded in an internal audit log.

Support information is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the limited information you choose to send us.

How we use information

We use information for these purposes only:

  • to provide and maintain the Mumin Life app and support service;
  • to diagnose bugs, crashes, compatibility issues, and content problems;
  • to reply to you when you provide an email address and consent to contact;
  • to correct Islamic content when you report an error in it;
  • to protect the service from spam, abuse, security incidents, and misuse;
  • to comply with legal obligations where required.

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Consent — for optional diagnostic logs, optional screenshots, and contacting you by email. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
  • Legitimate interests — for diagnosing reported problems, keeping the service secure, and preventing abuse.
  • Legal obligation — where retention or disclosure is required by law.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed with the service providers that run the app's support infrastructure, such as hosting, database, private file storage, security, backup, and email providers. These providers may process the information only to deliver those services to us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer where the commitments in this policy continue to apply.

Retention

We keep support information only as long as needed for support, security, legal, and operational purposes. Our standard retention targets are:

Information Typical retention
Open support reports While active and necessary
Resolved support reports Up to 180 days
Spam or abusive reports Up to 30 days
Report screenshots Deleted with the related report
Revoked or expired administrator sessions Purged after about seven days
Aggregated non-identifying counts May be retained longer

Your choices, access, and deletion

You choose whether to include diagnostic logs, a screenshot, and an email address when you submit support information, and you can use the app without submitting any of it.

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of support information you sent us, email support@mumin.life or use the contact option in the app. Include your report reference if you have one, so we can find the correct request. Because the app has no user accounts, a report reference or the email address you submitted is usually the only way we can identify your data. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to processing, to request a copy of your data, or to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Mumin Life is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent us personal information, contact us at support@mumin.life so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

International processing

Depending on where you use Mumin Life and where our service providers operate, information may be processed in a country other than your country of residence. Where required by law, we apply appropriate safeguards to that processing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, the support service, applicable law, or app store requirements change. The current version is always posted at this URL with the updated date shown above.
